The Smith in New York City is seeking a Prep Cook to support the kitchen with prep work, ingredient organization, and accurate cooking according to our recipes. You will help ensure timely service and maintain high standards for food quality and presentation.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of dishes by prepping ingredients to The Smith’s recipes specifications.
• Prepare items by chopping vegetables, making salads, and putting together entrees
• Store food in designated areas to prevent spoilage and ensure proper temperatures.
• Cut and portion different types of food from the menu and follow the recipe carefully.
• Make stock soups to be used during the cooking process.
• Portion food and prepare dishes for plating.
• Keep track of ingredients to ensure there is always enough for service.

THE POSITION: PREP COOK
