Job summary

The Smith in New York is seeking a Prep Cook to support line cooks by preparing ingredients according to The Smith’s recipes. You will chop vegetables, assemble salads, and help with entrees while keeping stations organized and clean.

THE POSITION: PREP COOK

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist in the preparation of dishes by prepping ingredients to The Smith’s recipes specifications.
• Prepare items by chopping vegetables, making salads, and putting together entrees
• Store food in designated areas to prevent spoilage and make sure the food temperature is appropriate.
• Cut and portion different types of food from the menu and follow the recipe carefully.
• Make stock soups to be used during the cooking process.
• Portion food and prepare dishes for plating.
• Keep track of ingredients to ensure there is always enough for service.
