Prep Cook

Full Time New York, NY, US

Salary Range: $20.00 To $22.00 Hourly

The Prep Cook is responsible for preparing ingredients and anticipating the needs of the cooks. He/she will assist in the preparation and organization of the kitchen and walk-in freezers, check expiry and labels.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:

• Anticipates the needs of the culinary team.
• Helps in the kitchen by washing, cutting, chopping fruits, vegetables, herbs, among others.
• Keeps the kitchen organized; materials and utensils in general and makes good use of equipment.
• Cleans and organizes all inventories, including refrigerators.
• Assists fellow cooks and chefs in controlling food costs.
• Responsible for preparing family meal daily.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:
Education: High school diploma required.
Experience Required: 1-2 years in kitchen/culinary setting.
Licenses or Certificates: Ability to obtain and/or maintain any government required licenses, certificates, or permits.
Grooming: All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance per Company standards.
