Job summary

Major Food Group is hiring a Prep Cook for Contessa in Miami, FL. The role involves setting up stations, preparing ingredients, cooking menu items, and following the executive staff’s directions to ensure timely, high-quality plates.

Qualified candidates have strong work ethic, 2+ years in high-volume or fine dining preferred, and culinary education or equivalent experience. Benefits include medical/dental/vision insurance and PTO.

Responsibilities

• Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies
• Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)
• Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
• Answer, report and follow executive or sous chef’s instructions
• Clean up station and take care of leftover food
• Stock inventory appropriately
• Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion

Salary Range: $16.00 To $18.00 Hourly

Major Food Group is hiring Prep Cooks to join our team at Contessa!

Contessa, inspired by the old-world resorts and the lasting estates of Italy, features cuisine embodying the effortless elegance of the Trattorias of Northern Italy. Offering all-day dining with breakfast, lunch, brunch, dinner and perfectly crafted cocktails, the menus showcase a range of selections from imported salumi and house made fresh pasta to dry aged Chianina Beef.

We are looking for candidates with a strong work ethic to help set and maintain the highest standards of cuisine and professionalism. Full-time open availability required.
