Qualifications

Job description

Summary:
ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for a Prep Cook at the Irving Convention Center. This is a hands-on position, providing the highest level of food quality and guest satisfaction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Assist the Executive Chef and cooks in following and maintaining standard recipes as listed in the ASM Global Food and Beverage Standard recipe book.
2. Maintain safe and sanitary working conditions and environment.
3. Assist in preparation of menu items as directed on Production Sheet.
4. Maintain quality food production standards.
5. Prepare hot food items for any or all of the work stations, including but not limited to Fry/Sauté Station, Broiler/Roast Station, Breakfast Station, Stock, Soups, Sauces Station, and others as assigned.
6. Follow all rules and regulations set by ASM Global.
7. Safely operate all equipment.
8. Maintain safety, sanitation, and health code standards.
9. Must be able to work a flexible work schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
10. Other duties as assigned by the Executive and/or Sous Chef(s).

Education and/or Experience

1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Minimum 1 year hands-on experience required.
3. Facility/industry experience preferred.

Skills and Abilities

1. Knowledge of kitchen equipment.
