Qualifications

  • Previous experience as prep cook or in a commercial kitchen preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations.
  • Understanding of food safety, sanitation, and proper handling procedures.
  • Ability to follow recipes and written or verbal instructions.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team environment.
  • Dependable, positive attitude with willingness to learn and grow.
  • Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Capable of standing for extended periods and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, slicing, peeling, measuring, and portioning according to recipes and production needs.
  • Assist chefs with the preparation of menu items for restaurant service, banquets, catering events, and special functions.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and sanitary workstations, prep areas, storage spaces, and kitchen equipment.
  • Follow standardized recipes, portion controls, and presentation guidelines.
  • Properly label, date, rotate, and store food products in accordance with food safety standards.
  • Receive, organize, and stock kitchen deliveries and inventory.
  • Support culinary staff during meal service and event execution as needed.
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Follow all health department regulations, food safety practices, and sanitation procedures.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and professional kitchen environment at all times.
