Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Clean, peel, slice, dice, and portion meats, vegetables, and other raw foods according to company recipes and specific production sheets.
• Set up, portion, and stock hot or cold buffet lines or concession prep stations.
• Support plating, arranging, and garnishing dishes for delivery to event guests.
• Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas, complying with local Board of Health and ServSafe regulations.
• Label, date, and store ingredients using FIFO to preserve freshness and minimize waste.
• Observe and report maintenance or safety malfunctions with kitchen equipment.

Pay Rate:

The pay rate for this job is $20 - $20 / hour*

What you'll be doing as a Prep Cook:

• Clean, peel, slice, dice, and portion meats, vegetables, and other raw foods according to company recipes and specific production sheets
• Set up, portion, and stock hot or cold buffet lines or concession prep stations
• Support plating, arranging, and garnishing dishes for delivery to event guests
• Strictly maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas, complying directly with local Board of Health and ServSafe regulations
• Label, date, and properly store all ingredients using First In, First Out (FIFO) procedures to preserve freshness and minimize event food waste
• Promptly observe and report any required maintenance or structural safety malfunctions with kitchen equipment

Job requirements:

• Applicants must be at least 18 years of age to be considered for employment with PeopleReady
• Previous culinary, commercial prep cook, or restaurant kitchen experience is highly preferred
• Demonstrated ability to safely operate standard commercial kitchen equipment (e.g., chef knives, meat slicers, mixers, convection ovens, and steamers)
• Ability to stand for long periods of time and comfortably lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects or sheet trays throughout the facility
• Food Handler Certificate or ServSafe certification is highly preferred
• Ability to work well under minimal supervision as well as closely alongside a fast-paced, event-driven culinary team
