Position Overview

The Prep Cook is responsible for preparing high-quality food according to hotel standards, ensuring timely and accurate food preparation for various kitchen areas.

Responsibilities

  1. Ensure the quality of food prepared.
  2. Prepare food orders following established recipes and menus.
  3. Maintain cleanliness of equipment and kitchen environment.
  4. Organize and keep the kitchen clean to support high-volume production.
  5. Handle and store food hygienically.
  6. Recognize quality standards in ingredients like vegetables, fish, dairy, and meats.
  7. Coordinate with the Chef or Sous Chef for special functions and orders.
  8. Follow health, safety, and storage regulations.
  9. Understand the formal requisition process.
  10. Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

Physical Requirements

  • Long hours and flexible scheduling may be required.
  • Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally.
  • Ability to stand throughout the shift.
  • Ability to withstand temperature variations.
