Job summary

Tailwind Concessions in Dayton, OH is seeking a part-time Prep Cook to join our fast-paced kitchen and support travelers with tasty, quality meals. Pay ranges $15.00–$17.00 per hour and includes a benefits-ready framework with 401k matching and training opportunities.

As a Prep Cook, you will follow recipes, prep lists, measure ingredients, maintain cleanliness, and work with a team to deliver a positive guest experience in an airport environment.

Qualifications

• Be accountable for ingredients prepped to management standards.
• Able to follow direct orders, recipes and to correctly prepare dishes to restaurant standards.
• Manual dexterity and knife handling skills.
• Ability to stand for long periods and work in hot environments.

Responsibilities

• Provides quality food products consistently for all customers by adhering to all recipe and presentation standards.
• Following prep lists created by the management team.
• Measuring ingredients and seasonings.
• Ensuring all food items are properly stored and easily accessible.
• Supervising food and cooling room temperatures.
• Maintaining a clean, orderly, and sanitized kitchen.
• Follow all health and safety guidelines, ensuring a safe work environment.
• Prepares, washes, and cuts food to be cooked.
• Restock and replenish product and inventory supplies.
• Interact with customers in a positive and upbeat manner.
• Work with a Team to provide the best possible customer experience.
• All other duties as assigned.

Salary Range: $15.00 To $17.00 Hourly

We are searching for an enthusiastic Prep Cook to provide delicious meals and excellent customer service for an amazing guest experience and bring a fun, inviting atmosphere to all travelers. As a Prep Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes, ensuring that they are of high quality and meet our customers' expectations. Your attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment will be crucial to your success in this role.

• Accountability for the ingredients prepped measuring up to the expectations of management
• Comprehension and organization to follow direct orders, recipes and to correctly prepare dishes to the standards of the restaurant
• Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to handle tools, such as knife techniques for chopping, slicing, cutting and dicing
• Ability to stand in one place for hours at a time, handle extreme heat and work shifts
