AdventHealth Surgery Center Wellswood in Tampa, FL is hiring a Per Diem Preoperative PACU Registered Nurse. The role provides continuity and quality nursing care for patients recovering from anesthesia, with emphasis on safety, comfort, and privacy.

Per diem scheduling allows flexibility for shifts and patient coverage. The ideal candidate will be a graduate from an accredited RN program, hold an active RN license in Florida, and have BLS/ACLS (PALS if required).

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
• Active RN license in the state.
• BLS and ACLS Required, PALS if required by the center.
• 2 years experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred.
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment.
• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the unit.
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition.
• Ensure patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times.
• Assist physicians in procedure rooms with various tasks, conscious sedation, and sterile techniques as deemed appropriate.
• Provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation; assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge.
