Job summary

Gulf Coast Endoscopy Center of Venice is hiring a Preoperative PACU Registered Nurse to provide continuous, comprehensive care for patients recovering from anesthesia. Responsibilities include patient safety, assessment, planning, and discharge readiness, with potential support for procedure room tasks and conscious sedation.

Requirements include RN licensure in the state, BLS/ACLS (PALS if required), and 1 year PACU/critical care experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
• Active RN license in the state.
• BLS and ACLS Required, PALS if required by the center.
• 1 year experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred.
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment.
• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the unit.
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuity and quality nursing care for all patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient and family in preparation for discharge.
• Assist physicians in procedure rooms with various tasks, conscious sedation, and sterile techniques as deemed appropriate.
