DHR Health in Edinburg, TX seeks a Registered Nurse for the Preoperative (Preop) area on a PRN basis. Responsible for planning, directing and evaluating direct and indirect nursing care for surgical patients, with emphasis on pre-operative interventions and patient advocacy.

Requires Texas RN license, ACLS within 3 months, and NRP within 6 months for Women’s Hospital staff. Ideal candidates will have 1–2 years of progressive nursing experience, strong communication, and the ability to work

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing required.
• Current registered nurse license in good standing in the State of Texas.
• ACLS required within 3 months of hire.
• NRP certification within 6 months of hire for Women’s Hospital employees.
• 1–2 years of progressive nursing experience, preferred.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.

Responsabilités

• Promotes patient care with timely physician and anesthesia coordination.
• Performs nursing activities in pre-operative phase per clinical standards.
• Act as patient advocate and ensure safe medication administration.
• Collaborates with other disciplines to deliver quality care.
• Ensure operating room procedures meet scheduled procedure requirements.
• Responds promptly to patient and physician needs; adheres to policies.
