Job summary

Memorial Hermann Endoscopy Cypress is hiring a Pre Op Registered Nurse to provide high-quality patient care using nursing process and organizational policies within the perioperative services for all patient populations. The RN reports to the Manager of Peri-operative Services and will support the mission of the center while coordinating with anesthesia providers, surgeons and fellow RNs.

Qualifications

• Must be a Registered Nurse with an unrestricted license.
• Graduated from an accredited school of nursing.
• 1–3 years' experience in PreOP/PACU preferred.
• Ambulatory surgical center experience preferred.
• Current BLS, ALS and PALS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive and efficient care to patients in the pre-operative phase.
• Conduct comprehensive pre-op assessments including history, medications, and allergies.
• Initiate IVs, administer medications, and ensure pre-op documentation is accurate.
• Reinforce pre-operative instructions and provide emotional support to patients and families.
• Communicate effectively with anesthesia providers, surgeons, and RNs for coordinated care.
• Maintain infection control, medication safety, and patient safety standards.
• Ensure pre-op documentation and consents are completed before surgery.
• Monitor and respond to changes in patient condition prior to surgery.
