Job summary

Physicians Surgery Center of Chattanooga is a Joint Commission-accredited ambulatory surgery center delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. The Preoperative RN assesses patients before surgery, ensuring they are fully prepared for procedures and answers questions from patients and families.

You will monitor vitals, review medical histories, and collaborate with the surgical team to ensure a smooth and safe experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
• Active RN license in the state.
• BLS and ACLS Required, PALS if required by the center.
• 2 years experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred.
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment.
• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet patient and unit needs.
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients before surgery and ensure they are fully prepared for procedures.
• Educate patients and families about the surgical process and address questions.
• Monitor vitals, review medical histories, and collaborate with the surgical team for safety.
• Maintain accurate documentation and uphold high standards of patient care.
