Job summary

Surgery Partners, Inc. seeks a Pre-Operative Registered Nurse (PRN) to provide nursing care for pre-operative patients in an ambulatory surgical setting in Memphis, TN.

The role involves administering medications, coordinating with physicians and OR staff, and ensuring accurate documentation and consent processes. Qualified candidates are graduates of an accredited nursing program with an active RN license and current BLS/ACLS certifications.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Registered Nurse License.
• Current American Heart Assn. BLS and ACLS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Assesses, develops and implements total nursing care for the pre-operative patient.
• Records and reports symptoms, reactions, abnormalities and changes in patient condition.
• Administers physician-ordered medications and treatments.
• Cares for and discharges pre-operative patients per facility policies.
• Reviews patient charts for accuracy and completeness.
• Ascertains consent and matches it to OR schedule.
• Ensures completed pre-operative work-up is documented and reports abnormalities.
• Obtains and labels patient belongings and assists with OR attire.
• Administers pre-operative sedation and documents dosage details.
• Maintains patient privacy and supports families.
• Maintains supplies and adheres to safety guidelines.
