Job summary

HUMBLE VASCULAR SURGICAL CENTER INC in Memphis is seeking a Pre-Operative Registered Nurse PRN to deliver comprehensive nursing care in an ambulatory surgical setting, following physician orders and center policies.

You will assess pre-op patients, administer medications, prepare charts and consent, and coordinate with anesthesia and surgical teams. A strong emphasis on patient safety, documentation, and maintaining privacy is required. This role requires BLS and ACLS, and active RN licensure.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Current RN license in good standing.
  • BLS and ACLS certifications per AHA guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Assesses, develops and implements total nursing care for the pre-operative patient.
  • Records and reports symptoms, reactions, abnormalities, and changes in patient condition.
  • Administers medications and treatments ordered by the physician.
  • Prepares and discharges pre-operative patients according to center policies.
  • Reviews pre-operative charts for accuracy and completeness.
  • Ensures surgical consent is completed and aligns with orders and OR schedule.
  • Coordinates pre-operative workups and reports abnormal findings to anesthesia/surgeon.

Education

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Current Registered Nurse License
BLS & ACLS certifications (American Heart Association)
