Job summary

District Surgery Center, LLC in Bethesda, Maryland is seeking an experienced PreOp and PACU RN to guide patients from pre-operative prep through anesthesia recovery in a fast-paced ambulatory setting. You will collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia teams, and perioperative staff to ensure safe, compassionate care.

This role offers a Monday–Friday schedule, no overnight shifts, and a supportive, team-oriented culture.

Qualifications

Current Maryland RN license or Compact RN license
BLS and ACLS certifications required
Minimum of 2 years of recent PACU experience preferred
Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Commitment to patient-centered care and teamwork

Responsibilities

Conduct pre-surgical assessments and patient interviews
Review charts to ensure all required testing, labs, and documentation are complete
Educate patients and families regarding surgical procedures and recovery expectations
Coordinate with physician offices, anesthesia providers, and clinical staff to ensure surgical readiness
Serve as a clinical resource and support smooth daily patient flow
Monitor patients recovering from anesthesia and surgical procedures
Perform comprehensive assessments and closely monitor airway, cardiac, and hemodynamic status
Collaborate with surgeons and anesthesia providers to ensure safe recovery and discharge
Provide discharge teaching and support to patients and their caregivers
