Job summary

Orchard Park Surgery Center is seeking a Preop/PACU RN PRN to join our team. The shift is Monday through Friday daytime hours with no weekends, nights, calls, or holidays.

The PACU nurse will implement physician orders, monitor patient condition, and ensure safety and comfort as patients recover from anesthesia. Under supervision of the Pre‑Op/PACU manager, the role emphasizes thorough perioperative care, coordination with physicians, and preparation for discharge.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• CO RN license required.
• BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications required.
• PACU/ICU experience preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of perioperative process and anesthesia implications.

Responsibilities

• Implement physician orders and provide continuous nursing care before, during, and after anesthesia.
• Assist physicians in procedure rooms and maintain patient safety and comfort.
• Prepare patients for discharge with clear instructions and follow-up care.

Prep/PACU Registered Nurse at South Denver Surgery Center

Under the direct supervision of the Pre‑Op/PACU manager, the PACU nurse is responsible for implementing all physician orders, providing continuity and quality of nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patients’ condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. The nurse assists physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, conscious sedation, and utilizing sterile technique as deemed appropriate. The role includes providing comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation, and assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Current CO Registered Nurse License
• Current BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications
• ASC experience a plus
• Experience in PACU / ICU required
• Good communication and human relations skills
• Ability to organize and follow through on own initiative
• Thorough knowledge of all phases of perioperative process, including surgical procedures and anesthesia implications

Hourly Range: $34 - $53 (based on experience)
