Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Surgicare Southlake is seeking a Registered Nurse for Preop/PACU, with weekday-only shifts and no holidays, weekends, nights, or on-call obligations. The role emphasizes continuity of care and patient safety in a high-quality ambulatory setting.

The PreOp/PACU RN delivers comprehensive care across the perioperative spectrum, may assist in procedure rooms with conscious sedation, and supports patients emerging from anesthesia.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
• Active RN license in the state.
• BLS and ACLS Required, PALS if required by the center.
• 2 years of experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred.
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment.
• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the unit.
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuity and quality nursing care for all patients in PreOp/PACU with continual evaluation of patient condition and safety.
• May assist physicians in procedure rooms with tasks including conscious sedation and sterile techniques.
• Provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation, including assessment, planning, and discharge preparation.
