Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent working knowledge.
• Current BLS certification is required.
• Current CNA in state of practice is required for new hires.
• Minimum 1 year of medical clerical experience; hospital or physician office preferred.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills; computer literacy and keyboarding ability.
• ECG interpretation knowledge or coursework required or on-the-job training.

Responsibilities

• Provide routine patient care support and assist with daily living activities.
• Collect data, vital signs, I/O, and document in EMR per policy.
• Recognize changes in patient health; communicate with licensed staff.
• Perform basic procedures and support OR turnover as needed.
• Handle receptionist/clerical duties and coordinate communications.
• Maintain accurate patient records, charts, and supply inventory.
• Assist with transport of patients and specimens within the unit.
