Job summary

Mass General Brigham in Boston seeks a Genetic Counselor to deliver advanced genetic counseling and education to patients, families, and research participants. The role combines direct patient care with collaboration across clinical teams and opportunities to support program development.

You will contribute to education, supervise trainees as appropriate, and participate in initiatives to improve clinical workflows and patient access to services. Onsite location: 90 Blossom Street, Boston.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Genetic Counseling is required.
• 3-5 years of experience in genetics required.
• Strong patient-centered communication and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of molecular genetics and general chemistry.
• Ability to follow detailed clinical and survey research protocols.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Provides advanced genetic counseling, education, and support to patients, families, and research participants.
• Reviews personal and family medical histories, assesses genetic risk, and helps patients understand their options and care plans.
• Coordinates genetic testing workflows, including documentation, consent, and communication of results.
• Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to support patient-centered care.
• Participates in clinical education, training, and professional development activities.
• Provides mentorship and training to peers and trainees and supervises trainees as appropriate.
• Contributes to process improvement initiatives to strengthen clinical programs and workflows.
• Supports advocacy and patient access initiatives that improve experience and access.
