Job description

Reporting To: Manager, Premium Review Services

Location: Waite Park, MN | Full-Time | Non-Exempt | In-office/Hybrid

Pay: $22- $24/hour

Role Mission

This role exists to get every workers' compensation premium review (carrier audit review) right and communicated clearly — protecting RPM's accuracy and the trust of customers, agents, and carriers place in us.

Role Summary

The Premium Review Specialist at Reliable Premium Management is responsible for helping businesses have a smooth workers' compensation audit experience— from gathering documentation through reviewing final results— and communicating the outcome clearly to customers, agents, and carriers. This role is built for someone who's detail-oriented, organized, and highly quantitative: comfortable digging into payroll reports and tax documents to find the real story, and who takes pride in catching discrepancies before they become disputes.

This role works closely with the Premium Review Services Manager and Senior Premium Review Services Specialists, and directly with customers, agents, brokers, and carriers, to help deliver RPM's promise of an accurate, audit-forward invoice every day.

If you're energized by solving a documentation puzzle, and you believe accuracy protects trust, this role was built for you.

What Success Looks Like

You know you're succeeding when:

  • Audit requests are completed accurately and within required timeframes
  • Documentation is complete and organized enough to hold up to a full audit trail
  • Premium variance discrepancies are caught early, with a clear cause identified
  • Client and carrier disputes get resolved without unnecessary back-and-forth
Key Responsibilities
Premium Review Services (Audit Review) Execution
  • Access and compile payroll reports and tax documentation from payroll providers to support audits, completing requests accurately and on time
  • Manage the full audit support lifecycle — from documentation support through final review — tracking progress through defined stages
  • Review completed audits for accuracy, identifying discrepancies and determining the cause of premium variances
Client & Carrier Communication
  • Resolve audit and premium questions using Playbooks and SOPs, using judgement to know when a situation calls for structured guidance versus a tailored response
  • Communicate audit outcomes to clients, brokers, agencies, and carriers, using de-escalation-oriented communication when partners are dissatisfied with results
Invoicing & Premium Processing
  • Process audit-related invoices and submit remittances to carriers per company and carrier protocol
  • Support premium invoicing for active policies by reviewing payroll reports and generating accurate billing statements
  • Monitor ongoing policies for red flags or inconsistencies, addressing issues directly or escalating when a situation falls outside existing Playbooks and SOPs
  • Own ongoing invoicing for assigned active policy accounts, verifying payroll data and generating accurate invoices per account setup and carrier requirements.
Who Thrives in This Role

This role is ideal for someone who:

  • Is detail-oriented enough to catch a discrepancy others would miss
  • Is comfortable following a Playbook until judgment says a situation needs something different
  • Stays calm and clear when a carrier or client is unhappy with a result
RPM Culture Principles (How This Role Shows Up)
Own the Outcome

Treats every audit like the accuracy of it is personally on you — not just a box to check.

  • Extended periods of sitting at a desk
  • Extended periods of computer, keyboard, and screen use
  • Visual acuity sufficient to review detailed documents, payroll reports, and data for accuracy
  • Ability to communicate clearly by phone and email for extended periods
  • Primarily sedentary work in an office setting
  • Minimal lifting
What We Offer
  • Quarterly bonus program
  • 100% employer-paid medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D, and short-term disability insurance

  • Two paid 15-minute rest breaks daily, plus a paid 30-minute meal break
  • Flexibility and trust to manage your work
  • A unique, people-centered culture rooted in ownership, transparency, and learning

Requirements
Core Capabilities
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Sound judgment — knowing when to follow the Playbook and when to escape
  • Organization, especially around documentation and audit trails
  • Clear, calm communication, including with dissatisfied clients or carriers
  • Comfort working with numbers and resolving discrepancies
  • General comfort with technology — able to pick up new systems and tools independently, including in-house/proprietary platforms beyond standard Microsoft Suite products
Experience & Background
  • 1-2 years of experience in a detail-oriented, documentation-heavy role such as bookkeeping, accounting, insurance operations, payroll administration or similar
  • Comfort with Excel, Outlook, and Adobe PDF tools, plus RPM's in-house/proprietary systems (training provided)
  • Prior experience in audit, insurance, payroll, or accounting-adjacent work is a plus
