Job summary

CommonSpirit Health, St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Oxnard, is seeking an Environmental Services Tech to maintain cleanliness and sanitation across hospital spaces, with emphasis on patient rooms, exam rooms, restrooms, and public areas.

You will follow infection-control standards, safely handle waste and linens, operate floor scrubbers and vacuums, restock supplies, and communicate effectively with nursing and support staff in a fast-paced healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in basic housekeeping practices and procedures.
• Proper handling/disposal of infectious waste.
• Proper safety skills in handling housekeeping chemicals.

Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect patient rooms, exam rooms, restrooms, and common areas following infection-control standards.
• Safely handle, transport, and dispose of bio-hazard waste, regular trash, and linens.
• Operate cleaning equipment including floor scrubbers, vacuums, and disinfectant sprayers.
• Respond to cleaning requests from nursing units, clinical staff, and supervisors in a timely manner.
• Restock supplies such as hand sanitizer, paper products, soap and PPE in assigned areas.
