Job summary

Dignity Health - St. John's Regional Medical Center in Oxnard, CA is seeking an Environmental Services Tech to perform cleaning tasks across campus.

You will clean and disinfect patient rooms, exam rooms, restrooms, and common areas according to infection-control standards, and safely handle waste and linens per guidelines. Daily duties include operating floor scrubbers, vacuums, and disinfectant sprayers, while supporting nursing units and staff with timely cleaning requests and restocking

Qualifications

• Experience utilizing basic housekeeping practices and procedures.
• Proper handling/disposal of infectious waste.
• Proper safety skills in handling of housekeeping chemicals.

Responsibilities

Every day, you will clean and disinfect patient rooms, exam rooms, restrooms, and common areas following hospital infection-control standards. Safely handle, transport, and dispose of bio-hazard waste, regular trash, and linens according to regulatory guidelines.

To be successful in this role, you will operate cleaning equipment including floor scrubbers, vacuums, and disinfectant sprayers.

• Converse, comprehend and communicate verbally in English.
• Respond to cleaning requests from nursing units, clinical staff, and supervisors in a timely manner.
• Restock supplies such as hand sanitizer, paper products, soap and PPE in assigned areas.
• Work tactfully and effectively with team members, patients and visitors.
• Maintain confidentiality of issues and materials designed as such.

Job Requirements
