Hammer & Nails Avon seeks an Artist (Barber) to provide technically excellent barbering and grooming in a hospitality-led shop. The role combines licensed services, consultation, sanitation, guest education, records, and contributing to shop goals.

Responsibilities include recommending home-care products, managing appointments, and maintaining a welcoming guest experience while upholding safety and cleanliness standards.

Qualifications

• CT barber license in good standing.
• Proven ability in barbering consultation, cutting, fading, styling, beard work, and sanitation.
• Reliable, team oriented, and able to receive coaching.

Responsibilities

• Consult with each guest about desired results, plan services, and preferences.
• Perform barbering services: haircuts, clipper/scissor work, beard grooming, shaving, shampooing.
• Assess service safety and scope; defer or pause when needed.
• Use approved tools, maintain sanitation, and disinfect between guests.
• Record service notes accurately in the system; protect guest privacy.
• Manage appointments, communicate delays, and coordinate with Concierge.
• Recommend home-care products, rebooking intervals, memberships, and services.
• Maintain tools, supplies, and shop-care; report issues promptly.
• Participate in education, technique calibration, and safety training.
