The Financial Division oversees accounting and financial reporting for American Financial Group and Great American Insurance Group. We are hiring a Premium Audit Specialist to join our team! This position can be fully remote; candidates in Cincinnati, OH, will work on a hybrid schedule.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
  1. Conduct thorough audits of insureds' financial records to verify reported premiums, ensuring accuracy and compliance with policies, regulations, and legal standards.
  2. Review and analyze complex financial statements, payroll records, and other documents to identify trends and anomalies affecting premium accuracy.
  3. Resolve discrepancies in policyholder records by coordinating with relevant departments and stakeholders.
  4. Evaluate insurance certificates and class codes for specific exposures.
  5. Analyze claim activity to ensure employee coding accuracy.
  6. Prepare and present detailed audit reports to management with clear findings.
  7. Collaborate with underwriters and internal teams to ensure correct premium calculations.
  8. Provide excellent customer service to policyholders, addressing audit inquiries professionally.
  9. Monitor and improve premium audit practices, assisting with strategic adjustments.
  10. Potentially oversee staff performance, coaching, and talent management.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Risk Management and Insurance, or related field, or equivalent experience.

Experience: Typically 10 years in Premium Audit, Underwriting, Accounting, or Finance. Insurance experience preferred. Progress toward professional designations such as APA, AU, CPCU, or ARM is a plus.

Qualifications: Advanced technical knowledge, analytical and problem-solving skills, industry awareness, and excellent communication skills. Serves as a senior resource, providing technical advice and support.
