Southwest ISD in Texas is seeking a dedicated paraprofessional to assist teachers and support student learning. This role focuses on helping individuals or small groups achieve skill objectives while maintaining a well-organized classroom environment that enables all students to benefit from the instructional program.
The position requires a high school diploma or GED with an ESSA/NCLB certificate or an associate degree or 48 college hours, plus fingerprint clearance.
To assist the classroom teacher in achieving teaching objectives by working with individual students or small groups to help them achieve the skill levels of the class as a whole. To provide a well-organized, smoothly functioning class environment in which students can take full advantage of the instructional program and available resource materials.
High school diploma or GED and ESSA or NCLB Certificate
OR Associates degree or 48 college hours from an accredited college
Candidate must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting check
Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing
Good organizational skills
Good classroom management skills
Maintain confidentiality
Experience working successfully with children (preferred)

Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals
Frequent standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, pushing and pulling
Repetitive hand motions and reaching
May be required to lift and position students with physical disabilities; occasional light lifting and carrying (up to 40 lbs.)
