  • Able to lift up to 10 pounds and able to stand for long hours.

Center City Public Charter Schools (Center City PCS) empower our students for lifelong success by building strong character, promoting academic excellence, and generating public service throughout Washington, D.C. Our network serves over 1,400 students annually at our six campuses, located across the District, with a staff of over 250 dedicated individuals.

General responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Plan and deliver daily effective, differentiated instruction
  • Demonstrate knowledge of resources, student needs, curriculum (AppleTree), content, and pedagogy
  • Set instructional outcomes
  • Administer student assessments
  • Create an environment of respect and rapport
  • Establish a culture of learning
  • Manage classroom procedures and student behavior
  • Communicate directions, expectations, procedures, and content with students
  • Engage students in learning with quality questioning and discussion techniques
  • Demonstrate flexibility and responsiveness
  • Use student data to inform instruction and integrate differentiated instruction
  • Engage parents and families in their child’s academic success by fostering an ongoing relationship centered around hopes and dreams
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records
  • Participate in the Center City PCS learning community via PLC’s, campus/district professional development, and weekly campus based grade-level planning sessions
  • Reflect on teaching by accepting ongoing informal feedback and implement changes based on that feedback
  • Following school-wide procedures for attire, behavior, and punctuality (teacher hours are 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM)
  • Attend and participate in occasional school events outside of regular school hours
