Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 19 years old.
• DCA credential or 9 college credits in Early Childhood Education/Child Development from a regionally accredited institution.
• Must meet suitability criteria under Alabama Child Protection Act of 1999 and Act No. 2002-457.
• Demonstrated proficiency in oral and written communication.
• Effective interpersonal and collaboration skills with diverse groups.
• Demonstrated success in relevant work experience.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to work in a highly demanding, stressful environment.
• Ability to work collaboratively as a productive team member.
• Physical strength, mobility, dexterity, stamina, and acuity to perform job responsibilities.
• Ability to stand, walk, stoop, and bend as needed.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates support for the school system and its goals.

• Implements and models family-style eating during meals.

• Assists lead teacher with lesson plans and activities.
• Helps maintain a clean and organized learning environment.
• Maintains confidentiality of school/workplace matters.
• Performs duties in a courteous and professional manner.
• Shows initiative to identify problems or improvements.
• Works with staff to implement goals and share data timely.
• Engages in professional growth and ethics.
• Reports potential problems to appropriate personnel.
• Responds to inquiries and feedback promptly.
• Maintains reports and correspondence timely.
