Qualifications

• Assistance to reinforce reading, language arts, math and computer instruction.

Responsibilities

• Assists and guides students individually and in small groups.
• Supports professional staff with classroom exercises, tests and assessments.
• Prepares and reinforces instructional materials for student needs.
• Maintains records of student learning and performance.
• Assists with classroom behavioral management to keep students on task.
• Supervises non-instructional duties such as lunch, bus, playground and study hall.
• Accompanies students on field trips for supervision.
• Communicates with parents as requested to involve them in education.
• Assists students with activities of daily living when needed.
• Follows safety rules and supports students with disabilities or special needs.
• May assist in training other paraprofessionals.
• Travel between schools as required.
