Job summary

Developmental PreK Instructional Aide

Position Summary: 28.5 hours per week

The Developmental PreK Instructional Aide supports the classroom teacher in providing a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for young children with diverse learning needs.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Assist the teacher with daily classroom instruction, routines, activities, and transitions.
• Provide individualized support to students based on their developmental, academic, behavioral, and communication needs.
• Assist students with personal care, hygiene, feeding, mobility, and other daily living needs as appropriate.
• Support implementation of student goals and accommodations under the direction of the teacher and appropriate service providers.
• Promote positive social-emotional development, independence, communication, and appropriate classroom behaviors.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment.
• Supervise students during classroom activities, arrival/dismissal, recess, lunch, and other school activities.
• Communicate professionally and collaboratively with teachers, staff, students, and families.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding student information and educational records.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the teacher or building administration.
