Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum Education/Certification: High School Diploma or GED
• Special Knowledge/Skills: Ability to work well with children, Proficient communication, Basic computer skills, Knowledge of office equipment, Bilingual English/Spanish preferred in some settings

Responsibilities

• Work with individual students or small groups to conduct instructional exercises
• Assist teachers in providing modified instruction for ESL students in inclusive settings
• Assist with administration and scoring of objective testing instruments
• Assist in supervising students throughout the school day, inside and outside the classroom
• Keep the teacher informed of special needs or problems of individual students
• Assist in keeping administrative records and preparing required reports
• Assist in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays
• Maintain a neat and orderly classroom
• Assist in inventory, care, and maintenance of classroom equipment
• Participate in staff development and meetings as required
• Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers
• Serve as an interpreter when needed
• Assist with activities of personal care (diapering, toileting, dressing)
• Any other duties as assigned by Campus Principal.
