Job summary

Sunny Days® Sunshine Center is seeking an energetic and experienced Teachers Aide to support a class of students throughout the year. Responsibilities include meal prep, assisting with bathroom breaks, and helping the lead teacher implement strategies to meet academic and emotional goals.

This float position requires moving between preschool and child care facilities; experience with infants/toddlers/preschoolers is essential.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year consecutive experience in a childcare/preschool setting.
• Strong understanding of child development principles and best practices in education and classroom management.
• Familiarity with play based learning and emergent curriculum a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of classroom health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and ability to closely adhere to the guidelines.
• All licensing certifications up to date: CBR enrollment, CPR/First Aid, food handlers card, and other required trainings.
• Willingness for continued education is a must.
• Problem-solving and mediation skills.

Responsibilities

• Create and follow a comprehensive curriculum.
• Teach beginning reading and math skills.
• Assist children with developing social and emotional skills.
• Use a range of instructional methods and learning techniques.
• Communicate with parents and other school personnel.
