Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED.
• Must hold CDA credential or equivalent, or 9 college hours in Early Childhood Education/Child Development.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must meet suitability criteria for employment.
• Alternatives to the above qualifications may be accepted by the Board.
• Ability to work with and under the direction of the lead teacher.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates support for the system mission, goals and priorities.
• Collaborates with the Lead Classroom Teacher to perform responsibilities and essential functions.
• Determines individual and class needs aligned with instructional goals.
• Plans learning experiences in line with local and state guidelines.
• Delivers instruction using varied techniques to promote outcomes.
• Maintains standards of student behavior to facilitate learning.
• Evaluates student needs and progress through basic assessments and records.
• Becomes familiar with and administers state Pre-K assessments.
• Seeks assistance from specialists as needed.
• Works with staff to promote student learning.
• Maintains professional relationships with parents and the community.
• Follows board policies, procedures, and state/federal rules.
• Participates in required training hours and professional development.
• Maintains timely reports and records.
