Job summary

Irving ISD seeks an EC Instructional Aide for the tuition-based program at Pierce ECC in Irving, TX. The role supports the classroom teacher, assists with self-help and behavior management, and helps implement instructional activities for PreK students.

The ideal candidate holds an Educational Aide I Paraprofessional Certificate or a high school diploma, with bilingual preferred. Strong communication and computer skills are required.

Qualifications

• Educational Aide I Paraprofessional Certificate or higher is required.
• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred in some settings.
• Ability to work well with children and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teacher with instructional exercises and small groups.
• Support ESL and inclusive settings with modified instruction.
• Assist with administration and scoring of tests and assignments.
• Supervise students inside and outside the classroom.
• Keep teacher informed of student needs and problems.
• Prepare instructional materials and classroom displays.
• Maintain a neat and orderly classroom environment.
• Assist with inventory and maintenance of classroom equipment.
• Provide orientation and support to substitute teachers.
• Serve as interpreter when needed.
