Job summary

Boston Public Schools is offering a fee-based PreK Afterschool Program at participating schools. The program provides high-quality afterschool programming for PreK students in a safe and inclusive environment.

The role reports to Principals/Head of Schools and requires part-time commitment of about 12 hours per week during the school year, with potential additional hours for meetings and training. Compensation is $38/hour.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 9+ college credits in early childhood education or related field, or 48 credits or an Associate’s Degree.
• Passing score on ParaPro Assessment or ACT WorkKeys Certificate of Proficiency for Teacher Assistants.
• Two years of experience working with young children.
• Current authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Implements curriculum and enrichment activities as provided by BPS Department of Early Childhood.
• Provides active supervision during all program activities and routines.
• Promotes health, safety, and personal hygiene.
• Supports participation of all children, including those with disabilities.
• Adheres to Boston Public Schools policies, procedures, and reporting requirements.
• Maintains a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment.
• Collaborates with afterschool facilitators, school staff, and families.
• Participates in required orientation, staff meetings, and training.

Education
