Job summary

The Coulterville CUSD 1 invites applications for a PreK-12 Principal to lead instructional excellence and daily operations across the district. The ideal candidate will foster collaboration among administrators, teachers and families to support student achievement in a small rural setting.

The successful candidate will collaborate with the Superintendent, support student achievement, uphold a positive learning environment, and manage curriculum alignment and assessments for grades PreK–12.

Qualifications

  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License with a Principal or General Administrative Endorsement.
  • Master of Arts in Education Administration or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as instructional and operational leader across PreK–12.
  • Collaborate with Superintendent on student motivation, discipline and daily operations.
  • Collaborate with faculty to develop and implement curriculum alignment with standards.
  • Develop and audit a growth and evaluation system for staff.
  • Promote a positive learning environment and address behavioral and academic issues.
  • Oversee special education, Title and intervention programs.
  • Communicate progress to parents/guardians and collaborate with ROE and others on professional development.
  • Coordinate standardized testing plans with the school counselor.

Job description

  • The Principal serves as the primary instructional and operational leader of the buildings, overseeing and leading all aspects of the schools from PreK to grade 12.
  • Through collaboration with the Superintendent, the Principal shall provide overall direction, supporting and executing key systems--particularly student motivation, student discipline and daily operations.
  • Collaborate with a team of professionals to plan and teach engaging lessons.
  • Collaborate with our team of professionals to develop assessments to gauge student understanding.
  • Collaborate with the Office Team, parents, teachers and students in one-on-one, small group or large settings to help them succeed.
  • Serve as an instructional leader by developing and auditing curriculum to ensure alignment with standards.
  • Collaborate with the faculty and staff to develop and implement an evaluation and growth system.
  • Collaborate with the faculty and staff to organize, maintain and promote a positive learning environment while addressing student behavioral and academic issues.
  • Oversee special education, Title and student intervention programs.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians about student progress.
  • Collaborate with the Superintendent, ROE and other entities to develop and implement a professional development system.
  • Collaborate with the school counselor to coordinate standardized testing plans.
  • Other responsibilities and duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Qualified candidates will have a valid Illinois Professional Educator License with a Principal or General Administrative Endorsement; M.A. in Education Administration.

Salary/Benefits

Salary and benefits are regionally competitive and range between $72,000.00 and $85,000.00. The Board offers a selection of healthcare benefits including an option to take cash in lieu of the healthcare benefits. Final salary and benefits will be negotiated with the successful candidate and determined based upon experience.
