Job Summary

Cook County School District 130 is seeking an Assistant Principal to support strong instructional practices and foster a positive, student‑centered culture across our K‑8 schools. In this role, you will work closely with the Principal to strengthen teaching and learning, support staff development, and ensure all students have access to a rigorous and inclusive educational experience. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on both student outcomes and school climate.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Drive Instructional Excellence: Use student data, classroom observations, and collaboration with teachers to strengthen instructional practices and improve student achievement.
  • Support a Positive School Climate: Help maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment that supports both academic success and student well‑being.
  • Develop and Support Staff: Provide coaching, feedback, and professional learning opportunities to build teacher capacity and effectiveness.
  • Strengthen Family and Community Partnerships: Communicate regularly with families and build relationships that support student success.
  • Oversee Student Discipline: Implement fair, consistent, and restorative practices while working collaboratively with students, staff, and families.
Desired Qualifications
  • Licensure: Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with General Administrative or Principal endorsement.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of successful teaching experience; prior administrative or leadership experience preferred.
  • Expertise: Strong understanding of K‑8 curriculum, instruction, student support services, including Special Education and Bilingual Education.
  • Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to engage in productive, data‑informed conversations and build positive relationships.
  • Preferred: Bilingual (Spanish) proficiency and completion of required evaluator training.
Salary Range

Salary range of $76,000 to $86,000 commensurate with school administrative experience.

Board of Education paid TRS.

Annual Administrator Academy provided by the District.

Contract Period and Work Hours
