Job summary

MercyOne is seeking a Prehospital (Transport) Registered Nurse to support emergency medical care in a 17-county Quad Cities region. The role encompasses managing patient triage, coordinating shift operations, and ensuring adherence to GMC Ambulance protocols in coordination with the EMS team.

The position emphasizes teamwork with physicians, nurses, and outside agencies, delivering ethical and culturally competent care in high-stress environments.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma with up to 1 year of related coursework.
• Field Of Study: Emergency Medicine
• Licensure/Registration: Licensed Paramedic in IA and IL; Valid Driver's License.
• Experience: Less than 1 year experience required.
• Special Training: Basic Life Support, ACLS

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations when the Manager and/or Charge Medic are not available.
• Support management of human, fiscal, material and environmental resources.
• Foster interdisciplinary collaborative relationships; make decisions in patient care/triage; ensure smooth shift operations.
• Promote evidence-based practice through research utilization or practice research.
• Perform technical procedures per GMC Ambulance protocols and work within the Scope of Practice.
