Job summary

Good Shepherd Children & Family Services is seeking a Pregnancy and Parenting Support Worker to provide individual and family case management, counseling, and educational services for pregnant women and families in St. Louis County and City.

The role focuses on promoting healthy birth outcomes, assisting with parenting and adoption options, and coordinating with community resources within the Catholic Charities of St. Louis framework.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Counseling or Psychology with 3 years experience; master’s degree preferred.
• Understanding of pregnancy, birth and parenting issues; knowledge of community resources; understanding of family systems and trauma.
• Experience with contracts and grants funding for PPS services.

Responsibilities

• Reach out and engage new clients in a timely manner.
• Schedule and keep appointments with clients, frequency individualized (bi-weekly or monthly).
• Maintain a caseload of up to 25 active clients.
• Provide case management and counseling to support healthy pregnancies and positive birth outcomes.
• Present and explore parenting and adoption options for clients.
• Coordinate with external service providers to link clients to resources and provide crisis intervention when needed.
• Maintain timely client records and documentation for funders.
• Participate in supervision, meetings, and ongoing training.
