Job summary

JE Dunn Construction is seeking a Prefab Shop Assistant 1 to produce components at our off-site manufacturing facility using automated tools and equipment. You will move materials, assemble parts, and load finished components for transport to project sites, supporting JE Dunn's safety and quality standards.

The role emphasizes basic math, accurate reading of cut lists, and teamwork with the shop crew. Candidates should be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work non-traditional hours as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Apprentice or Vocational/Technical/Trade training preferred.
• Equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
• 0-2 years commercial construction, manufacturing, or fabrication shop experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operates automated equipment to produce metal or wood components.
• Reads cut lists and manufactures repeatable parts.
• Applies basic math to cut parts and assemble components.
• Assembles components and prepares end products.
• Packages and loads materials for transport to sites.
• Reads a tape measure accurately.
• Maintains clean shop and equipment.
• Uses tablets and software to communicate and track tasks.
