Job summary

JE Dunn is seeking a Prefab Shop Assistant 1 to produce metal or wood components at our off-site manufacturing facility. You will move materials, package finished components, and load assemblies for transport to project sites, following supervisor directions and using basic measurement skills.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform work accurately and completely, in a timely manner.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to follow up on inquiries in a timely manner.
• Ability to identify common construction materials and shop equipment.
• Ability to build relationships and collaborate within a team, both internally and externally.

Responsibilities

• Operates a number of types of basic automated equipment to produce metal or wood components.
• Operates manual shop equipment; uses cut list to make repeatable parts.
• Applies basic math to production activities, such as cutting parts to size or assembling parts.
• Collects multiple components cut to specific sizes and assembles end products.
• Packages and loads cut materials and assemblies for transport to project sites.
• Reads and understands a tape measure accurately.
• Keeps the shop, equipment, and common areas clean.
• Uses tablet computers and software to communicate and report progress.
