Job summary

Emerald Isle Foods LLC in Richmond, VA is seeking a Sanitation employee to support, clean, and sanitize the precut operation. This role involves active participation in tasks to ensure that the facility manufactures and distributes safe, high-quality products in compliance with regulatory requirements, customer specs and company standards.

Key duties include maintaining a hygienic environment, promoting health and safety, following GMP and SDS guidelines, handling chemicals safely, cleaning

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift heavy objects using pallet jack.
• Able to work a flexible schedule between 12am to 6am.
• HACCP or Serve Safe certification preferred.
• Experience in a refrigerated climate.

Job Location: Emerald Isle Foods LLC - Richmond, VA 23234, Salary Range: $16.00 - $16.00 Hourly, Schedule: Sunday - Friday 6:30am to Completion alternative Sunday -Friday 2pm to Completion

Job Purpose

The Sanitation employee is responsible for supporting, cleaning, and sanitizing function of the precut operation. This position includes an active participation in the tasks necessary to ensure that Keany Produce & Gourmet manufactures and distributes safe and consistent products of the highest quality and that all products follow regulatory requirements, customer specs and company standards.

Essential Job Functions

• Create and maintain an efficient, hygienic, and positive working environment.


• Promote health and safety in the workplace.


• Understand GMP, sanitation standard operating procedures, and inspection regulations.


• Reading chemical labels or safety data sheets (SDS) to learn how to properly handle chemicals.


• Responsible for cleaning and sanitizing tools, equipment, and environment of the food processing area using various chemicals such as chlorinated alkaline detergents, acid detergents and different sanitizers.


• Responsible for cleanliness of the food plant using water pressure hose.


• Assemble and disassemble sanitized machines and processing equipment, when necessary.
