Preconstruction Manager - MEP

The primary role of the Engineered Systems - MEP Precon PM & Estimator is to provide technical and cost estimate support from conceptual design to project handover, including estimating for business development.

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
• At least 10 years' experience in engineering design, facility management/operations, or construction management.
• Minimum 5 years of cost estimating experience with mechanical and electrical systems.
• Expertise in engineered systems for mission critical, educational, medical, labs, industrial, and similar projects.
• Strong communication skills across organizational levels, able to convey technical topics effectively.
• Analytical, problem-solving, organization, and time management skills.
• Experience with estimating tools such as Bluebeam, iTWO Cost X, ICAT, or similar.

Preferred:

• Registered Professional Engineer.
• Proficiency with REVIT and AutoCAD.
• Experience with Bluebeam Revu or Revitzo.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Additional Details

Travel: ~25% to job sites. Hybrid office attendance.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing technical expertise during pre-construction, construction, and management phases.
• Reviewing A/E documents, participating in client and team meetings, assisting with VE and cost reduction, and procurement planning.
• Supporting project interpretation, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and schedule review.
• Developing standards, providing technical training, and staying current with industry technologies.
• Developing accurate MEP cost estimates and collaborating with teams.
• Participating in project management meetings, mentoring staff, and supporting company standards.

Physical Requirements

Sitting for extended periods, lifting up to 20 pounds, and site visits under various weather conditions.

Compensation

Base salary: $95,000 - $120,000, plus benefits including insurance, retirement, paid time off, and bonuses. Final salary depends on experience, location, and skills.
