F.A. Wilhelm Construction in Indianapolis is seeking a Preconstruction Manager to lead the early project phase, coordinating with estimators, clients, and design teams to develop accurate cost models.

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field and bring at least 5 years of construction experience, delivering thorough preconstruction packages. F.A.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Science, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience in the construction industry.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction to the estimating team to assemble the estimate and ensure it is accurate and complete.
• Create and analyze cost models/forecasts during design development and bidding; advise client and team.
• Prepare bid packages, obtain bids from subcontractors and vendors, and assess them.
• Coordinate the assembly of preconstruction materials for owner/engineer presentations — design development estimates, GMP booklets.
• Lead the preparation and review of trade contracts and major purchase orders for compliance with docs and estimates.
• Coordinate transition from preconstruction to field operations and compare estimates to actual progress.
