Job summary

Bryan Construction is seeking a Preconstruction Manager to lead planning and early-stage project development, ensuring accurate scoping, competitive pricing, and a coordinated entry to construction.

You will oversee budgeting, estimating, RFP strategy, and constructability reviews from pursuit through award, collaborating with owners, architects, engineers, and internal teams to deliver well-defined, cost-conscious plans that align with client goals and contractor capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering or equivalent.
• Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).
• Experience as a Senior Estimator or Project Manager.
• Experience using estimating forms and software.
• Experience using estimating takeoff software.
• Experience analyzing proposals and reviewing MEP estimates.
• Experience budgeting across all design phases.
• Leadership, coaching or mentoring experience.
• Experience working with construction schedules.
• Experience using bid invitation software.
• Experience leading and facilitating meetings.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and develop Estimators and Senior Estimators and ensure SOP compliance.
• Own full preconstruction lifecycle from pursuit to award, including RFP strategy and interview prep.
• Oversee drawings, specs, and RFPs; coordinate with design and subcontractors.
• Assess risks and cost drivers; identify lead times impacting schedule.
• Manage pre-bid RFIs; ensure accuracy of logs and responses.
• Review bid packages and subcontractor participation for complete coverage.
• Lead bid day activities and post-bid debriefs; support executive decisions.
• Prepare proposal packages and ensure alignment with customer requirements.
• Develop pre-bid schedule with schedulers for milestones.
