Job summary

AnderCorp is seeking a Preconstruction Manager in Huntsville to lead the development of accurate, competitive estimates from concept through bid. The role bridges design, estimating, procurement, operations, and executive leadership, and requires strategic thinking with strong estimating expertise.

You will lead cross-functional teams, develop cost models, and communicate assumptions to stakeholders to position projects for success before construction begins.

Responsibilities

• Lead detailed quantity takeoffs across multiple CSI divisions.
• Develop conceptual, budgetary, and bid-level estimates.
• Utilize current market conditions and historical cost data to create accurate pricing.
• Prepare project cost models and estimate summaries for leadership review.
• Analyze project scope and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Identify risks, scope gaps, constructability issues, and pricing exposures.
• Develop General Conditions budgets and project schedules.
• Evaluate project requirements and develop execution strategies.
• Communicate key estimating assumptions, risks, and recommendations to stakeholders.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier proposals.
• Review scope coverage, exclusions, qualifications, and pricing.
• Assist with purchasing, buyout activities, and subcontract development.
• Build strong relationships with trade partners and vendors.
• Collaborate with operations, project management, design teams, and leadership.
• Support project pursuits and client presentations as needed.
• Provide mentorship to junior estimating and preconstruction professionals.
• Drive continuous improvement in estimating processes.
