Job summary

U.S. Engineering Innovations is seeking a Preconstruction Manager to lead project designs and budgets from inception through preconstruction and into construction.

You will partner with Owners, GC, Architects, and Engineers to develop proposals, perform calculations, and generate schematic drawings for design‑assist and design‑build projects. The role requires an engineering background with HVAC/plumbing expertise, strong budgeting and scheduling skills, and effective communication across teams.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree and P.E. registration strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 4 years of HVAC and plumbing design experience; preconstruction experience accepted in lieu of design background.
• Strong ability to manage budgets and schedules, with basic financial acumen.
• Proficient in MS Excel and able to coordinate with project managers and field staff.

Responsibilities

• Conceptually finish designs on incomplete documents to support proposals.
• Generate or review engineering calculations by the design engineer.
• Assist in value engineering and design options through client and contractor collaboration.
• Create schematic drawings and coordinate electrical and general design on design‑assist/build projects.
• Support project managers and field personnel on design issues through construction.
• Provide solutions to engineering applications internally and externally.
