Meta is seeking a Preconstruction Manager to join our design, engineering and construction organization in Chicago. You will oversee site diligence, design kickoff, and GMP execution, coordinating with leadership, site development, and delivery teams to manage budgets, schedules, risk and constructability for mission-critical projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in a related field.
• 15+ years direct professional experience in Commercial/Construction Management or equivalent.
• Strong communication and coordination skills to lead a team to a single project outcome.
• Familiar with large capital programs, ground-up and retrofit construction.
• Proficiency in preconstruction areas: site development, diligence, budget, scheduling, change management, risk, negotiation.

Responsibilities

• Manage large-scale preconstruction agreements from site diligence through construction start with external partners.
• Lead program alignment of multiple projects in preconstruction, including cost, schedule and risk comparisons.
• Report project status, risk, budget, and schedule guidance to leadership with KPI visibility.
• Provide scoping and bid analysis to ensure complete scope and accurate pricing for bidders.
• Interface with Design and Engineering to develop scope criteria, budgets and schedules.
• Support build strategy with site diligence review, supply chain analysis, vendor selection and procurement models.
• Develop and operationalize new processes and tooling for initiatives.
• Provide constructability input and influence implementation plans for new ideas.
• Maintain industry connections and build a database of prequalified external partners.
• Account for change management implications and drive mitigation strategies for future work.
• Collaborate with Contracts Management to ensure correct commercial terms with partners.
• Lead stakeholders on high-impact initiatives to de-risk delivery (labor, productivity, talent).
• Manage high-volume daily interactions with cross-functional partners.
• Provide cost, schedule and commercial accountability expertise across teams.
