Job summary

Hoar Construction seeks an Assistant Preconstruction Manager to support preconstruction services across projects, guiding design-stage work while maintaining schedule, scope and quality. You will provide input, coordination and problem solving through all phases of design.

Travel up to 10% and collaboration with owners, designers and subcontractors are required. A degree in a related field and 1–4 years in pre-construction/estimating are preferred, with proficiency in estimating tools and MS

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Building Science, Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field.
• 1-4 years of experience in pre-construction/estimating on large commercial or industrial projects.
• Knowledge of construction cost estimating, conceptual budgeting, and scheduling.
• Proficient in MS Office.
• Experience with Sketchup, Revit, VICO, NavisWorks, On-Screen Take-Off and Suretrak.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Produce detailed quantity take-offs for conceptual estimates.
• Assist in managing bid processes, document flow, scoping, subcontractor participation and pricing documentation.
• Assemble estimates including general/special conditions, insurance and bonds to match contract terms.
• Analyze subcontractor pricing for completeness and bid adherence.
• Review documents for completeness and provide constructability feedback to the design team.
• Coordinate preconstruction activities with owners and design teams.
• Prepare meeting agendas, minutes and manage administrative tasks.
• Assist with subcontractor solicitation and budget preparation.
